Project Description
“It was the worst, scariest and loneliest night of my life alone in a hotel room.”
In 2020, Dear Decision Makers launched a story-telling campaign providing a safe platform for women and other members of the public to anonymously share their experiences of abortion and the ways in which they were impacted by Malta’s blanket ban.
The result was a publication featuring 48 powerful first-hand accounts. These stories may be anonymous but they are real, they are important, and they are worth listening to.
Dear Decision Makers has teamed up with two British producers to create a documentary that amplifies voices that deserve to be heard and advocates for a future where choice is respected and protected.
The documentary is inspired by these stories and will feature excerpts in the women’s own words. It will also shed light on Malta’s growing pro-choice movement and those who are at the forefront, fighting for change against one of the strictest abortion bans in the world.
Producing a documentary requires resources, and we aim to raise €5,000 to cover filming, studio space, animation, editing, and distribution costs.
We’re a small team but share a common goal, and our hope with this documentary is to raise awareness and inspire change. You can also support us by sharing our fundraiser, and offering any skills you feel may help this production. See the FAQ tab for further information about our project.
Thank you for supporting our fight for justice and equality.
