Project Description
We aim to kayak over 100km around Malta and Gozo to raise funds for C.L.A.W.S.
For that, we need your help so we can cover the costs of the materials, supplies, campaigns, and support boats.
You might be asking who are C.L.A.W.S? C.L.A.W.S is a registered voluntary organization that aims to to reduce the number of stray and homeless cats and kittens in Malta. They rescue, foster, medicate, rehabilitate and rehome hundreds of cats and kittens each year, which is why this journey is needed to collect money for them to be able to help animals in need.
Through your donation and support, we will raise awareness together and take care of these animals.
Are you ready to be a part of this generous adventure around Malta and Gozo?
Project FAQ
How is this different ?
Instead of going around Malta and Gozo on our own, we will create a community event. All kayakers will be able to join in on one or multiple legs of the journey. The legs will be sections of the journey in smaller and more manageable distances that most kayakers will be able to achieve with camping stops in between.
What will be provided ?
Medical care will be provided with a support boat whilst kayaking; water and snacks will be provided by the same boat. An evening meal and breakfast will also be provided to participants. Spare paddles will also be available to be loaned out in case of any breakages. A security officer will be provided to guard the kayaks and campsite at night.
What are the legs of the journey and how long will the journey take?
The journey will be spread over a Friday and a weekend. We would leave Marsaxlokk and paddle all the way to Dwejra in Gozo where we will camp for the night. The next morning we would paddle around Gozo and head back to Malta where we would camp at Mellieha. The next day we would paddle to Marsaxlokk to conclude our journey.
