Our Story
Memory Pals was created from a simple idea: souvenirs should do more than sit on a shelf.
Malta is rich in culture, history, wildlife, traditions, and iconic symbols that make our islands unique. Yet many souvenirs fail to tell the stories behind them. We wanted to create something different — something that children and families could enjoy, learn from, and treasure for years.
That is why we created Memory Pals.
Each Memory Pal is inspired by an element of Maltese heritage and is designed to encourage curiosity, learning, and storytelling.
Our current collection already includes beloved Maltese characters such as the Merill, Malta’s national bird, the Weasel, and the Ballotra. Every character comes with its own story, helping children discover more about Malta’s wildlife, culture, and traditions through play.
At Memory Pals, we are committed to creating original products inspired by Malta’s culture, wildlife, and traditions.
To protect our unique designs and the creative work invested in developing the Memory Pals collection, our character and product designs are protected through Intellectual Property registration. This helps ensure that the Memory Pals brand remains authentic and that supporters are backing genuine, original creations developed specifically for the Maltese market.

The Luzzu
The colourful Luzzu is one of Malta’s most recognisable symbols. For generations, these traditional fishing boats have been part of Malta’s maritime heritage and coastal landscape.
We want to transform this iconic boat into a high-quality plush companion that celebrates Maltese tradition and craftsmanship.
The Pastizzi Keychain
No visit to Malta is complete without tasting a Pastizz.
This fun plush keychain will turn one of Malta’s most loved foods into a collectible keepsake that can travel with people wherever they go.
More Than A Toy
Every Memory Pal is designed to tell a story.
Through accompanying story cards, educational content, and future story-reading initiatives, children can learn about the animals, landmarks, traditions, and symbols that make Malta special.
Our vision is to create a collection that encourages children to read, learn, and develop an appreciation for Maltese culture while enjoying a cuddly companion.

What is Memory Pals?
Memory Pals is a Maltese brand that creates unique plush souvenirs inspired by Malta's wildlife, culture, landmarks, and traditions. Our mission is to combine fun, storytelling, and education through high-quality collectible plush products.
What products are being funded through this campaign?
This campaign will help fund the production of two new additions to the Memory Pals family:
- The Luzzu Plush
- The Pastizzi Plush Keychain
These products are currently in development and will be manufactured once the campaign reaches its funding goal.
Are the products already designed?
Yes. The designs are currently being finalised with our manufacturing partners. The campaign funds will be used to support production, safety testing, packaging, and delivery.
What will the funds be used for?
Funds raised will contribute towards:
- Product development and samples
- Manufacturing costs
- Safety testing and compliance certification
- Packaging materials
- Shipping and logistics
- Educational storytelling materials
Do you already have other Memory Pals products?
Yes. We currently offer several Maltese-inspired plush characters, including:

Some reward tiers include these existing products.
When will rewards be delivered?
Existing products included in reward tiers may be shipped shortly after the campaign concludes.
The new Luzzu Plush and Pastizzi Keychain are expected to be delivered following production and quality testing. Estimated delivery timelines will be communicated regularly to all supporters.
Will the products meet European safety standards?
Yes. Product safety is extremely important to us. The products will undergo the necessary testing and certification processes required for sale within the European Union.
Can I support the project if I live outside Malta?
Yes. We welcome supporters from around the world. Shipping options and costs will be detailed during the reward selection process.
Are these products suitable for children?
Yes. Our products are designed with children and families in mind. Final age recommendations will be confirmed following safety testing and certification.
Will the Luzzu and Pastizzi products be available in shops later?
The intention is to make the products available through selected retailers and the Memory Pals website after launch. However, campaign supporters will receive early access and help make production possible.
Why crowdfunding if you already sell products?
Memory Pals is an independent Maltese startup. Crowdfunding allows us to involve our community directly in deciding which new products are brought to life while reducing the financial risk associated with developing and manufacturing new designs. Supporters are not only purchasing products; they are helping shape the future of the Memory Pals collection.
