Project Description
My Cutie Rag Doll is a social enterprise producing and selling rag dolls from recycled materials, and organizing workshops for young girls and jobless women to teach and empower them to work and create products with their hands.
The overall budget for this initiative is €1,000. Help us to raise funds for sewing machines, other workshop equipment, and the website to share and create a working space where together we can make an impact on sustainability.
We need:
- To create a website and and share in it our products.
- 2 single sewing machines
All donations will help us get closer to our target to create a sustainable community. All donations will be rewarded with a handmade gift according to the tier chosen.
The project targets women from small regions and cities where the employment opportunities for this specific target group are limited. The project development is planned in 3 stages:
Stage 1 – Creation of the Doll
Stage 2 – Conducting workshops and Production of dolls
Stage 3 – Sale of finished products (My Cutie Rag Doll products and dolls created in the workshops)
There is a need for such a community project since there are many jobless women, especially after the Covid pandemic. The project also serves as a self-employment opportunity for the founder of the My Cutie Rag Doll company who wants to turn her artistic skills into a sustainable business and create an internationally recognizable brand.
THE IMPACT
The My Cutie Rag Dolls are a unique product since they are co-created and finished by the customers themselves based on premade design templates. This can provide a business opportunity for jobless women, giving them a new skill set and the possibility to earn some money with their own dolls. My Cutie Rag doll is giving women the possibility of an independent future through a sustainable business opportunity.
The project objective is to enable participants to become economically independent, while also creating a sustainable ecosystem that can run on a profit basis, but with the profit reinvested for further project growth and development (social entrepreneurship).
Our goal is to create and design dolls, create a website and enable the sale of the first 1000 dolls till Christmas 2023. We aim to become a successful social entrepreneur and have our brand My Cutie Rag Doll become a recognized hand made soft toy brand. We also aim to employ at least 15 women through the project.
