Project Description
Mellieha Fireworks, or Ghaqda tan-nar Marija Bambina Mellieha as it is known locally, is a registered voluntary organisation established in 1989. Its main aum is to organise fireworks displays for the feast of Marija Bambina in Mellieha. Its voluntary members work hard throughout the year to manufacture fireworks in licenced fireworks factories in Malta so that every September the public can enjoy breathtaking displays, both aerial and ground. Over the last years, Mellieha has become synonoumous with spectacular fireworks displays perfectly synchronised with music together and artistic mechanised ground fireoworks. Mellieha Fireworks are also invited to produce other fireworks displays around Malta and Gozo for annual feasts and also private events. Fund raising activities are organised throughout the year to raise enough funds required to produce such displays and is supported wholeheartedly by private donors especially establishments based in Mellieha.
We would like to organise a special fireworks display for New Year’s Eve this year to lift up the spirits of all the community following this very difficult year. We hope that we could celebrate through this display and usher a new better year.
This can also be enjoyed from the comfort of your home and keeping safe.
