Project Description

For people with Parkinson’s simple tasks such as getting out of bed, putting on clothes, eating, talking, and others, become difficult challenges.

Offering specialised care under different schemes to accompany the free dance therapy classes already being offered by Step Up For Parkinson’s, the Parkinson’s Centre shall also offer value added benefits of specialised healthcare practitioners, and will house the overall functions related to therapy, professional advice and a place to call home, also offering respite for family members.

Focus groups and online patient forums showed that people with Parkinson’s were often dissatisfied with the care provided due to unacceptable variations in the quality of care with suboptimal health outcomes and high costs as a result. The way forward is undoubtedly the availability of specialised care to provide attention to Parkinson’s sufferers and their caregivers, giving them hope that they too can lead a better quality of life.

The whole initiative budget is €275,000 any little bit helps to reach their goal! Be part of the change!
