Why? This year our focus is on the REFURBISHMENT of the back part of our shelter.

The plan is to:

  • increase the amount of shelter space,
  • removal of the asbestos roofing, and
  • landscaping the area in order to CREATE a NEW and friendly AGILITY area to facilitate the REHABILITATION of our intakes and support our ongoing ADOPTION process.

This area will also serve as an EDUCATIONAL facility to hold workshops focusing on animal welfare related topics such as training and care for our animals. Our aim is to facilitate Animal Welfare by targeting the source of the problem to safeguard future lives and prevent further cruelty to our Animals.

The refurbishment on the extension of our kennels towards the back of our shelter has been completed. Thanks to this new extension we have increased our INTAKE by 15 dogs per month. To date we have taken in 100 ANIMALS, 88 of which were dogs and REHOMED 85 , locally. We are now focusing on the refurbishment of the remainder of this area, which will form part of our AGILITY area and EDUCATIONAL facility to improve our operation.

You can get to know more about our work in our behind-the-scenes video.

In light of this initiative, we are organising our very own event called RELOVED where we will be talking about the importance of SUSTAINABILITY as part of SUSTAINABILITY SEPTEMBER.

In order to sustain ourselves, MSPCA relies heavily on two revenue streams to keep us going:

  1. Its chain of second-hand shops that help bring in a steady flow of funds, while helping to contribute to a more sustainable way of living.
  2. Memberships, both from members of the public and from corporations.

RELOVED, our fundraising event and awareness campaign will be opening up the floor at the winery to ARTISTS in the form of Dance by Alison White, Comedy by Pia Zammit, Fashion & Audiovisuals, Voiced by Trudy Kerr, in our MISSION to talk to you about the importance of being sustainable and protecting what matters.
