Snowflake of hope: A winter dream for children in alternative care

Help us give a group of children in alternative/residential care the chance to experience something they’ve only dreamed about — seeing snow for the very first time. Every donation brings them one step closer to a memory they will cherish forever.

Project Description

This project is dedicated to a group of youngsters currently living in alternative (residential) care in Malta. Young individuals who often face limitations many of us never even have to think about. For them, travel is a distant luxury, something beyond reach.

With the help of the community, and in collaboration with Maltese influencer Danita(One Chick and a Yorkie), we are working to give these children a journey they will never forget: a trip to a snowy destination where they can experience winter magic for the very first time.

Our aim is to take them abroad to a safe, family-friendly, snow-covered location where they can explore, laugh, and simply be children — free from their everyday worries. We plan to travel this winter season, choosing the destination based on availability, affordability, and, above all, the safety and comfort of the children.

This initiative matters deeply because, for many of them, it may be their first (and possibly only) chance to experience life beyond our shores. A moment like this can plant seeds of hope, confidence, and belonging, reminding them that they matter, that people care, and that joy is meant for them too.

While our official fundraising target is €2,500, we hope to surpass it so we can cover flights, accommodation, meals, winter clothing, safe activities, and adequate supervision. Every extra euro helps us make this once-in-a-lifetime experience richer, warmer, and more unforgettable.

This is a rare opportunity to give these children a memory they will carry forever—a moment in which the world opened up just for them. Help us make their first snow a moment of pure wonder.
