There’s very little doubt that Reunited Pet Cabin has touched the hearts of everyone who has heard of it – so much so, that the project reached its goal of €13,000 within days of its launch on ZAAR.com.mt.
The work now commences on the actual project, which will see a designated area within Mater Dei being turned into a space where owners who are in hospital and their pets – currently limited to dogs – can be reunited in the hopes that this will have the same effect on them as it did for Jacob.
As many of you may know, Jacob’s reunion with his dog, Peanut, while recovering in hospital after two bouts at the ITU, affected his mood greatly and was a pivotal moment in his recovery. Yet, his mother, Sarah, who orchestrated the meeting, was adamant that no family whose loved one was seriously ill should find it that hard to make a patient’s potential last wish to see their beloved pet that hard.
Through ZAAR.com.mt, and with the help of many entities, including Junior Chamber International Malta and Mater Dei Hospital, the project is now kicking off. Nevertheless, funds for this wonderful cause are still being accepted, and any extra money collected will go directly towards the maintenance of the Pet Cabin.
From our end at ZAAR.com.mt, this is a fantastic milestone: our first fully-funded campaign – and it couldn’t have been a better one! To see what started off as a heart-breaking story turn into such a heart-warming one, is magical in itself.
Thank you!
